Updated for Lazy Genius

Soccer Zero Current Meta

The state of Soccer: Zero this patch. Which Styles are over- and underrated, the best 5v5 comps, map-specific picks, and what's likely to get nerfed next.

Headline Meta Shifts

  • Lazy Genius debuted A-tier and is climbing as players learn the trap loop.
  • Genius got a quiet buff via the stamina rebalance — sustained passing is cheaper.
  • Speedster remains the most picked Style; Afterburner is still the cleanest counter tool.
  • Wall survived OT changes well — body-block lanes are stronger relative to slide tackles.
  • Brawler took an indirect nerf — knockback-resist meta is overshadowed by Lazy Genius reads.

Tier List (This Patch)

TierStylesNotes
S+SpeedsterThe pick if you can only learn one Style.
SStriker, Lazy GeniusStriker for finishing; Lazy Genius if your reads are sharp.
AGenius, Wall, SniperComp-defining picks; reward team coordination.
BAcrobat, BrawlerMap and comp dependent; pop off in the right hands.

Best 5v5 Comps

The Standard (most reliable)

  • 1× Wall — backline anchor
  • 1× Genius — playmaker / pass conductor
  • 1× Speedster — counter threat
  • 1× Striker — primary finisher
  • 1× Flex (Acrobat for crosses or Sniper for vision)

This is the comp 80% of high-rank lobbies converge on. Hard to lose to, hard to win huge with — picks up most of its wins from Flow trading.

Read-Heavy

  • 1× Wall
  • 1× Lazy Genius — primary creator
  • 1× Genius — secondary creator
  • 1× Striker
  • 1× Speedster

If your team can read defensive shapes well, this comp shreds — but it requires real coordination. Casual stacks should avoid.

Counter Stack

  • 2× Wall
  • 2× Speedster
  • 1× Striker

The "park-the-bus + counter" comp. Powerful against possession-heavy enemies; weak in OT against patient teams.

Anti-Meta (Aerial)

  • 1× Wall, 1× Genius, 1× Acrobat, 1× Brawler, 1× Striker

Targets enemies who don't defend headers. Strong on tight-wing maps where crosses are common.

Map-Specific Picks

  • Lazy Genius Stadium (new) — tight wings reward Speedster and Acrobat.
  • Classic Pitch — balanced; Standard comp wins.
  • Open Field — big space favours Sniper and Genius.

What's Likely To Get Nerfed Next

This is community speculation, not a leak — but worth knowing:

  • Lazy Genius Flow duration — 4s of slowed opponent inputs feels strong; a 3s tune is plausible.
  • Speedster Afterburner stamina cost — the "free Dribble" rider may get a stamina tax.
  • Striker auto-aim — corner targeting may tighten.

What's Underrated

  • Wall in a high-Flow meta — when both teams cycle Flows, the team that can shut down the activator wins.
  • Sniper on Open Field — Eagle Shot ignores most positional defence.
  • Acrobat on Lazy Genius Stadium — the cross meta is real on tight wings.
